YUME, GENJITSU - TRAUM und WIRKLICHKEIT

is a photo-project about Cosplay, Visual Kei, Gothic Lolitas and Comiccollectors from all over Austria (and also some from Germany)

A fairy with wings of more than 3 meters, self-made costumes, total encouragement all this in an age range between 14 to 35 years.
Cosplay (jap. kosupure) is the japanese shortcut of the english term costume play and indicates a japanese trend which came to Europe and the US from Japan during the 90-ies with the Manga- and Anime-boom.

Sometimes a Cosplayer works for months on a costume, so the pictures of it should be unique ones.

This has been our motivation since we started this project.

Meanwhile we have a collection of amazing, unique images either at extraordinary locations or in natural environments, reflecting the turn of the seasons.
Combined with Interviews and travelfeatures of japan there’s a photobook planned.
