Eva Minu Schimmer - Dreamers
"Since 2006 I am taking pictures of teens and adults, who are interested in Manga, Anime, science-fiction novels, fantasy, LARP, comics, some of them love to dress up as their favorite character for special occasions… The project started with the digital photographed pictures, which is my portfolio "yume, genjitsu – dream and reality".
I worked always digital and analog at the same time. The series "Dreamers" which is also the next booktitle, was only shot analog with Kodak films and a Hasselblad. Portraits, details of costumes, conventions, preparations. There is a lot of passion involved. Dreamers - the costumes are not the daily outfits, you are a character but only for a short time.
More than 1000 people – have taken part. I have no idea how many have really been involved in the meantime. I simply stopped counting. People (age range 11- 85 years) from Austria, Germany, UK, Hungary, Spain, Israel, Thailand, India, USA … have participated so far. I am not a cosplayer or a roleplayer. Really, I do not own one single cosplay, I do not even dress up for carnival,… but I got fascinated by the fact how much passion is involved in the love for anime, films, fiction, comics, mangas.
